About S.J. Pratt
S.J. co-founded an aerospace engineering company in 2017, around the same time she started her first novel. Her team of engineers have designed and built everything from self-heating batteries for space and magnetic propulsion devices to small satellites that house and monitor science experiments.
S.J. loves writing young adult sci-fi and fantasy, using her knowledge to create realistic engineering problems and solutions in an accessible, fun way. Her first book, The 716, was published in 2022 and she is now working on the second book in the series.
Her work has appeared in Sponge, The Quick Brown Dog, The Commuting Book, and Antipodean SF. She is also a narrator for the Antipodean SF Radio Show, which she loves.
S.J. is also a rock climber, a budding ballerina, and adores a good cup of coffee. As a sci-fi nerd, she looks forward to culminating her existence as an omnipotent space whale. She lives in Christchurch, New Zealand with her incredible husband and incredibly needy cats.
